so i did dana 44/ford 9 inch swap to my 1999 ranger, and when i was grinding stuff off in the beginning i accidently chopped my fuel line. it is a steel line and i cannot find a splice kit or even a replacement anywhere, so if anyone has any info that might give me a hand please let me know. ford told me the part is now obsolete to them and no longer in their computers. please help me piece this thing together!

I'd do that^^^ using clamps with no holes, two clamps on each side of the splice, and high pressure line.

a compression coupler will hold better, although if you make sure to use high pressure fuel line and clamps, the above fix should work-but you should bell the ends of the steel line first.

Or if you can remove the line and have it silver soldered. I sucked a 1/2"drill bit through the nylon line in my frame rail and was able to use a splice kit, 5/16".
