ok...I thought I read somewhere that 30mpg could be had with the 4BT....

I know I get 15-16MPG with my Powerstroke pulling my Ranger ( that is at 70MPH on hills ).....which is way better than my Ranger ever got:D

doesnt that mean that the 4bt would be getting better fuel miliage? lol not to mention the diesels just friggin cool and has plenty of torque. you wouldnt be needing that doubler haha

either way i think you'll have more then enough power and 2mpg isnt much of a difference

Stock to stock, I remember them being close to each other. They also weigh 800 pounds, and of course weight and gas mileage don't go hand in hand. I'm sure there are people out there getting well over 30 mpg, but I'm sure they have a shit ton of money in them. I think it would be cool as hell, and if you get it at a good price, well worth it. I just don't ever see finding a 4bt for 600 bucks with all accessories.

screw it.... I'm doing it. I have to have a new rear driveshaft made anyway, i have to move the tank when i do the L-Series swap, and my trans crossmember in the truck now is bent. Now I'm on the hunt for the D&D kit....

Cutting down the T-Case this weekend.

Tired of the driveshaft hitting, and i am adding a traction bar. Just allows more room. Also lets me move the oba tank to under the bed instead of inside the bed

Bray didn't have any issues with the early Ranger rear tank....

I will be looking up a Doubler myself here really soon....

a member on another forum has the 4BTA in his ranger. He is averaging 18-22 MPG.

My 68 with the LS1 gets 17 at 80 MPH on the freeway and 20 in town. Just sayin :D
18? What gears is he running? My friend has one in a 77 F250 with a Zf5 and i think 4.10 gears with 33s and pulls 30ish all day except for when we play with the pump.

no clue buddy. Haven't asked. Just noticed him talking about mileage. Hell, he may have been towing a semi or something, no clue.

BTW, why the hell would you put a 4cyl diesel into a F250? Why not just go with 6bt?
