Good morning all, I’m in the process of swapping both cats on my truck (4.0 SOHC), they both threw codes and now that I have them out it’s just dust in there, no catalyst left. But my question is about the hardware. Out of the 4 bolts connecting the header flange to the inlet of the cats, only one came off still intact so I went to buy more and took the bolt with. I measured the original bolt on the tool they had there l it read 3/8-16, but after a few trips back and forth it seems like no size works. The threads on the header-to-cat studs look fine (at least to me, not too certain 😂), so what should I do moving forward?

That’s probably M10x1.5 like most other new Fords.

Thanks, I’ll try it out. Odd because the old nut threads perfectly onto 3/8-16. I have tried 3/8-24 and M10x1.25 so far.

You can check out Rock Auto, if you can afford to wait. Last I checked, they had exhaust to cat studs available for my 2011.

Thanks. M10x1.5 works, but two out of the four won’t start threading by hand, just spinning. Any suggestions?

Cut them off, drill them out, and replace it with a stainless steel bolt/nut/washers.
