I cannot find a replacement for my leaking sending unit in my 91' Ranger with a 4.0. Does anyone know of a replacement sending unit part number that will work with an OE dash gauge?

All I can find says your part number is for a Light, and looks like this

The one for a gauge looks like this and should have this part number E6SZ9278A or F5SF9278AA

Oil pressure switch is the same on all Rangers 1989 and up, just the connector changed

1991 should have a single stud sticking out that you slide the one wire on to

Cheapest is PS461, $15
Cheapest Motorcraft is SW2220, $25

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
If I recall, the OEM part is just a pressure switch. When pressure rises high enough, the switch has closes and send the needle in the gauge cluster to a position to read "normal".

And while I was typing, RonD gave you the info.

I was shocked at the prices up here. I'm definitely scrounging those parts off before sending stuff to the wrecker.

That ps461 is $5.11 on RockAuto and looks identical to what was originally on my 93 and functions as I described above. After about 25 years, it will start leaking again. But that's probably acceptable for a $5 part.

I searched on rock auto and it comes up as a "wholesaler close-out" for C$6.90. Probably worth buying one or 2 before they're gone forever...
