Surfing the web (Instagram) I found a guy who changed his Bronco II headlights to some round ones. He cut the body so he could put an old Bronco I headlights buckets.
I wanted to do that to my 1988 Ranger just because I liked the looks, but I didn´t want to cut the body and do something I couldn't undo later in case I changed my opinion or something happened.
So I figured I could use something else and ended up buying some VW Beattle headlight buckets and adapted them on my truck without needing to cut anything. It was easier than I thought it would be and took me just a couple of hours - with the first one I was super cautious, but with the second one I was much more confident and did it in just about half an hour or so -.
The harder part was trying to align the lights with the grille and it was kind of tedious taking off and putting back the grille a few times but I actually enjoyed the process.
I used just a driller, a flexometer and a vernier caliper.

So, here are some photos I took. The truck is still a project but I'm trying to work on it at least once a week. 💪

The Round bucket cost me around 37 USD the pair. Chinese-made but made out of steel and pretty sturdy and with good finishing.
The headlights are a pair of HELLA 002395031 HLPM 7". I paid about 55 USD each.
The lights are HELLA H4 Performance. Around 6 USD each.

I moved your post to the lighting forum.

Pretty cool mod... several here have done similar.

I have a Bronco II and toyed with the idea myself.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
I love the square vehicle/round headlights aesthetic, bigtime.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
When I started in the car business in 1972, the service station I worked at stocked 3 sealed beams and they fit most everything except 6 volt cars. Keep in mind VWs were 6 volt until 1967. We had 6 inch dual beam and 4 inch in both dual and single beam for the 4 headlight cars. Sometimes simple is best.

In August of 1990 when I hauled my Mustang out of the barn it sat in since 1983, it had one original Ford script headlight still in it. It worked so I left it, figuring as soon as one of the sealed beams burned out I'd put something brighter in there. Almost 34 year later, both sealed beams still work. Since I only drive it during the daylight saving time months, I don't need brighter lights because I can't stay out late enough to need them.

I like the sealed one better too, they even look more classic to me even if I can only look at the back of them when opening the hood 😅; but I needed something a bit brighter. Furthermore, I wanted some good brands like Hella and down here in Mexico most of the sealed beams I could find were plastic/acrylic Chinese cheap crap.

By the way, I would like to see some pics of that Mustang of yours if possible.
