I there a way I can keep the mice away from the cars? They dont stay parked very long, I try to move them aroud at least once a week, yet I have been finding evidence of rodent camps under the hood. When they got to my ranger, I declared war. Thankfully it was non essential wires they chewed, but still. Its seems vehicles not parked on pavement are more targeted.

Anyways I heard they don't like pepper or mint...I was thinking spray some extract around the engine bay and the wiring harness. Also maybe set some strategically placed traps, of both the traditional snapping and glue type. Sometimes I can see them, but hesitant to shoot into my engine bay, which is my normal method of dispatch.

"Peppermint". All 1 word. They don't like peppermint.
I believe they don't like pepper pepper either, I think that's what he was getting at.

Is it possible to throw down some gravel where the vehicles get parked? I've had a gravel driveway for years and never had a mouse problem. Of course, I live in a suburb and there are a few cats around. So those all may be reasons why.

I used to have issues with them getting into the air cleaner boxes of my motor cycles and 4-wheelers but I put a dryer sheet in the inlet tube for the air cleaners and the issue stopped. The down side to this is you need to remove them before starting them. I'm not sure this will help in large areas but for small ones it worked great for me.

I live in the middle of the woods.. rodent haven around here.

As has been mentioned already.. mothballs and dryer sheets CAN work.. but I've also seen a TON of half eaten mothballs and nests made almost entirely of dryer sheets 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ so those methods definitely aren't a silver bullet.

Minty/peppery sprays are much better in my recent experience.

Can't we all just get along?
With rodents? No... if they leave me alone I leave them alone, but when they get in my business I get more serious... :). Around here there are less rodents around than there have been, I need to get rid of a mole under the house but they're hard to get... mice seem to like to use the glove box of my '00 explorer as a bathroom and the blower motor fan as a house which is annoying

Sorry for the crappy typing guys...I usually only get to hang out here early in the morning still half asleep, or later in the evening quite half drunk.

Funny you mention that...The radiator shrouds and other plastics on my MX dirt bike are chewed up (thankfully none of the few wires)...besides that they won't even bother with the 2 or 4 wheeled toys, even the ones living outdoors or in sheds. Maybe they like Yamaha blue, or two strokes.

Update... I did a full musical chair vehicle shuffle tried to park everything in open/paved areas.

I see plenty of hawks, hear the owls and coyotes...Maybe I'll do a beastmaster summon dance and command them to hunt the rodents.

Wish all you Rangeroos a happy and vermin free weekend!
