hello all. I changed my transfer case fluid today on my 2011 ranger with manual transmission and electronic t-case. I found that my damper is missing and having trouble finding a replacement let a lone part number. Does anyone know the part number or where to buy one?

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Do you mean that stupid weight that they hang on the back of the transfer case that everyone throws away?

On paper it does, like the balancer shaft in the early 4.0l SOHC engines when used in 4x4 vehicles
But in reality no difference with or without the "hockey puck" or balancer shaft
So both were dropped when Ford ran out of those parts on the assembly lines

No reason not to use them, but there was also no reason to reorder new ones

Well now, it seems I happen to have two of them I don't need.
93 (I don;t know how far back they were before that) to 2011 seems to be quite a spell to be installing an unnecessary product. Especially considering they pay sums in the millions to those who tell them how to save half a cent

They’re used to lower the NVH levels in a specific instance. It’s not that it’s unnecessary, it’s that you’ll never notice that it’s not there.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
On paper it does,
Did you ever work for the government? Everything looks good on paper there. Application, there's a completely different subject.

I think sometimes beancounters have uncles that make dampeners too...
