sweet i love the nightly updates! looking good man! glad that you are ok with the press incident.

keep up the good work!
that was scaryest about two hours later.by then i had enough time to think about it.just a bit of a sore spot on the chest today,so no problem.:icon_thumby:

i wish i had some wheels to bolt on the back of this thing when the springs get hooked up.guess i'll just have to wait.

today was just about finishing the rear end.
i have the rear frame pretty much designed, just have to start cutting metal.the only nagging problem is the upper spring mounts.i don't really know how high they need to be to acheive the ride height i need.i figure i'm going to make an educated guess about it,and hope it's close enough to ballast for fine tuning.
if at the end it's too far out i will cut it apart and use the height it ended up at to calculate the proper position.
oh,the joys of custom building.
Is it possible to just make the ride height adjustable by making the mounting point adjustable by use of a nut on bolt or something of the like? Turn the bolt, increases the distance between the fixed mounting point and the top of the springs. That way you wouldn't need to worry about getting it exact for now and you could adjust it later for changes to the car, different tire size, different load on the rear end, etc.

i thought of many ways to accomplish this, and still may end up doing something of the sort, though i also would like to keep it as simple as possible.by the end of today i will know better what i'm going to do,right now i'm building the rear frame and cage.

a closeup of the spring hangers-i copped out on the adjustment idea-what i will do is tack them in place well enough to hold the weight, then if adjustment is needed i will break the tacks and rotate them up or down as may be needed before welding them on solidly.

I'd go with the first set, they're one of my favorite wheels.

I like the second wheel better.

Somebody else on here posted this a while back: http://www.oewheelsllc.com/

They're mostly knock offs of factory designs but they're super cheap.

the second one was what i was thinking of before i started looking, though i like the first one too.they both have an old time look to them, but the second one costs almost twice as much as the first.i have to decide what it's worth to me.
i'm not going to cheap out,but i'm not rich either.
