My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Probably a change to save money 😋 white paint has got to be cheaper than that fake chrome stuff

Probably. The fake chrome has been known to peel off over time anyway.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
I'm just waiting for Ford to start naming their trucks. i.e. Silverado, Ram, Titan, Tundra... Of course, they could act confused like Dodge/Ram did, hmm Ford/Wade maybe. Not really confused, just likes water.

At least it's not as bad as the new Kia logo and the others that don't even make sense like the one that's like 7L or whatever maybe V's... I thought society was supposed to progress not regress...

Yeah, I don't really see the difference myself. Wasn't the Ford oval already blue and white way back in the day? Alternate color emblems have been available for so long I hardly even notice them any more.

Since I own a Kia, I'd have to agree on the subject of their new logo. While the old one wasn;t anything special, The simple KIA oval in chrom on a black background was nice, clean and simple. New one is ugly. The Korean market "broken K" emblem is better than both. I've had a set of the latter sitting here for years to put on, maybe I'll get around to it some day. Maybe I'll also finally install that new mirror on the passenger side door when I get around to it.

I believe you are right that the logo was blue and white in the past.

the grey-t escape
I’ve noticed on a lot of the newer fords (newer being 2005+) that the blue fades badly, the older ones held up much better over time.

I have noticed that too. So far the 2011 has been good. The 2019 might still be too new to say one way or another. I do seem to recall some of the “chrome” was peeling on the bottom of the logo on the tailgate of the 2011. So, maybe it’s on it’s way to doing the same thing you were talking about.

The first time I saw the new Kia emblem I’m looking at what appears to be a stylized KN to me and wonder who the eff this manufacturer is…

Of course, 90% of new vehicles look much the same no matter who’s emblem is on it…

I actually think KIA did a good job with their rebrand. Seems like they are trying to get away from the stigma of KIA being the cheapest POS beater you could buy.
They started with that 10 year warranty just to get people to buy their cars, now they have restyled everything to be more “modern” looking.

Not that I would buy a Kia, but at least it seems they have been making a significant effort to improve their market share instead of just resting on their laurels like some other manufacturers seem to do.

I don’t remember seeing a Daewoo in a long time. Not that there was ever a lot of them to begin with.
