Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Alright! You ARE making GOOD progress.

I was worried that the transmission fluid lines would give you trouble, but you did great.

Good call on the mess. I use cat litter, too.

But we did cuz of the YouTube guy on "I just fix it myself."
Pardon my saying so, but TRS will steer you on taking care of a Ranger a lot better than any "YouTube guy". :)

Get some rest. You're doing good, and you will get there.

I agree with the YouTube statement. You ALL have been giving me nothing but information, support encouragement and love. I am so blessed I found this site!!!
Yes...bed time is early tonight.

A couple of thoughts, to consider before you go to finish things up.

Radiator is in the dumpster
Have you received the new radiator? I'm thinking that it may be a good idea to make sure that you don't need any small parts off of the old radiator before you pitch it (like the ATF line fittings or the drain plug).

Not sure we had to take off serpentine belt either. But we did
It would be a great time to put a new belt on, if you can get one before putting everything back together.

Good luck; we're all pulling for you. (y)

We need to stop messing with the framework that the founding fathers created.
I just found this thread and wanted to add a few things. I recently did the same fix (on an older Ranger)
1. My new radiator did not come with the correct fittings for the transmission lines. I had to use the ones off the old rad.
2. it took a while to get those fittings to stop leaking. Eventually I had to get some plumbing paste which fixed it instantly. I’ll dig out the tube and get the info about it if you end up having the same problem.
3. Pretty soon you will look back on this and feel so much pride in what you accomplished. And you should!

👍👍 to RobbieD!

It was an easy reach. I grabbed it and it's in the bed of my truck 🙂
Whew! The garbage is picked up Thursday's! That was a close call. Thank you Robbie! You saved me more obstacles.
Today I'm going to be truck free and catch up on housework and dinner with a couple friends. They are picking me up!!

Good! Now if your luck runs like mine, the new radiator will have everything because you retrieved the old one; if the old one did go to the dump then the new radiator would have needed something off of the old one.

A break from the truck will do you some good. Hope that it goes smooth when you get back on the truck, and looking forward to hearing that you're driving it again.

@Jo-Riley
If you do get a new serpentine belt, don't throw out the old one, put it under the seat. In worst case, you have a spare.

GF was sitting in parking lot in Kingston, ON after the OEM one parted company while I begged Ford parts to open on Saturday to sell me a replacement - local Cdn Tire no longer carried one for vehicle that old. Since then, all of my vehicle have had a spare.

It's all done!!! Neighbor helped me finish ☺
Drove it...warmed up gauge looks good, heater works.
Did not replace bottom hose or thermostat.
Only upper hose and radiator. I'll hold on to lower hose and thermostat if needed in the future!
Thank you so much for all your knowledge!
I'm so wiped out today. My arms are sore from using muscles I thought I no longer had. 🤭
After a nap I'll recheck fluid levels. ✔

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :yahoo:

Do check both the coolant and ATF levels soon. Check the coolant level for the next several days or next several drives. If possible, park where you can look under the truck and check for drips or puddles.

Any questions on your truck, you know the place to ask.

Good for you, for not giving up, and for getting it done!
