The right side caught me and sucked me in before I could say oh crap.

Let's try pulling it out the way it went in.

Guess I'd better start digging

She's really in there:

I guess this would explain why it wouldn't come out backwards, front wheel bounced OVER the culvert. It was the only culvert for hundres of metres and I found it.

It's out!

The hole I left behind, I'm sure the loggers up there are laughin at my marks right now...

Ha. It looks like fun...

That has happen to me before, Mazda was sitting on both axles and the truck that tired to pull me out was spinning all four tires, so we had to "jerk" it out. Worth it, and the marks are still there in the mud (its been 2weeks)

I'll never figure out why it seems that most people are seldom prepared. I assume you guys were out 'wheeling or with intentions of doing so when this happened?

Flipflops? wow. :icon_confused:

Yeah we were out wheelin, the arrangement was that I'd be in the mud so the girls were allowed to wear their regular clothes. Next time I bring rubber boots.....

I was totally prepared.... Truck was in up to the bumpers but thanks to a shovel, hatchet, backsaw, tow-rope, and some good old fashioned elbow grease we were out in less than 45minutes....

And before anyone asks, yes my tow-rope is a retired climbing rope. It's 180' worth of rope tripled back on itself to make a 30' very snappy strap.....

Looks like fun man, next time you be that much the wiser against the mud and softness. I wouldnt let the girls come out like that again thought. Minimum is (work) jeans and good runners.

I had to chuckle as I read "totally prepared". I have a front/back winch, 300+ feet of cable, shovel, chainsaw, 3 clevis's, 2 snatch blocks, 200lbs of tools, spare parts, TP, food/water, either, fire extinguisher, and some other stuff I'm forgetting, and I do not feel 'totally prepared'. I fell well prepared, but I and still trying to figure out where to carry the rest of my prepared-ness...

(Yes of course my spare is along for the ride, it's on the back of my pal's toyota. He teases me with "bronco rescue vehicle", I am schemeing a roof rack.)

Forget rope, I have a hugh tow chain.

When the Mazda was on axles the rope snapped, which is why I now have the chain.

Very bad idea, when that chain snaps it's going to do some serious damage to a vehicle and/or someone. Get a strap.

Looks like a good time.

Not to sound Iike a dick but a lot of things I see in showoff of people getting pulled out is just wrong.

People taking about chains, using trailer balls, just the wrong stuff at the wrong time. Flat out and simple good tow points and a strap, nothing else should be used for yanking a truck out of a whole.

i agree when i got stuck an was a DUMBASS we used a chain well we learned our lesson.. broke the chain , left dimples in my roof, broke my buddies sun roof an windshield.. so next day i went out an got a nice strap... no more chains.
