Also, why is the truck being governed at 95 MPH an issue?
its not an issue, im just tryin to learn what i can about these trucks. I will never be going that fast in my truck, well when i get one, thats what the maxima is for.

Ya craigslist prices, well prices in general are different on everything depending where you live... for example, for what I paid for my house here in Tacoma, WA, I could of bought a lot 2x the size with a house 4 x bigger, with a pool, and have cash left over.. Problem is, I dont want to have to fly somewhere and drive the truck back, I got 2 jobs and I don't have the time for that, although im sure it would be fun

Ive seen 97 98 99 rangers on craigslists for $5000 + more than I see ones for under $4000

browse the seattle-tacoma craigslist and look at what they go for in my area. the only ones that are $1k-$3k are the 2wd 4cyl rangers. I want a 4x4 w/ext cab. I dont want the flareside ranger which i see alot on craigslist, smaller bed correct?

2 years ago I shipped a truck from Colorado to SE Arizona for 500 bucks through a bonded company. It was that or have him drive the truck to me, pay him an hourly wage and then fly him back home. It was cheaper to ship it. Just an idea.

On trucks that old, the maintenance history would be my biggest concern. If the '98 was beat to death or seriously neglected, it may not be as reliable as the '92.

The automatics used in '98 models (4R44E and 5R55E) are better than the A4LD in general, but again, maintenance history and how the truck is used will matter more.
