1987 standard cab short bed, with a 2003-ish FX4 Level II 8.8" rear axle w/Torsen (one inch wider on each side)
Front wheels are 17" x 9" - Offset +24mm - Backspacing 5.95"
Rear wheels are 17" x 10" - Offset +20mm - Backspacing 6.29"
Front tires are 255/40-17"
Rear tires are 275/40-17"
And yes, it rides a little rough because of the short sidewall, even with new shocks. The rear can try to get away from you on super crappy highways at higher speeds.
LMR SVE 10th Anniversary Mustang deep dish wheels.
Rears will not tuck under bedside but it has never rubbed or hit, even with a load of lumber in it..
The fronts, I can't run the center caps because of the grease cap on the spindle. If I run a 1/4" thick wheel spacer, I can use the center caps BUT then the wheel studs aren't long enough. I plan to address this during my 97 Ranger i-beam/brake swap by pressing longer studs in to the Sport Trac rotors. No rubbing or clearance issues on the front though.
She does her best to hook up. The light rear end combined with the V8 and 4.10 gears makes that a difficult task though. I'll be swapping to 3.73's soon. I have everything for the job but the right weather..
The rear...
Testing fitment.
