Where can I find a list of what the trouble codes mean for my truck? I have a scanner and it reads six codes P0171, P0174, P0000 X 4. I would love to have a printout of all the codes if possible. Thanks in advance.

Check for vacuum leaks and low fuel pressure.

Bank 1 and 2 lean is usually caused by one of two things. A) bad intake gaskets, but that usually sets a code for only 1 bank. B) vac leak.

The test is the same. Spray around the engine bay with a can of brake cleaner or carb cleaner and listen for it to rev. As you hear it rev up, go back over that spot until you figure out where the leak is.

Try not to use starter fluid, it makes it run too rich and doesn't burn off fast enough.

I feel you man. 2 hours trying to get a Dodge ball joint out today. It still shows no signs of budging.

That sucks....My brother's F250 ball joints were "challenging" but we found a little nudge with a LARGE hammer did the trick :icon_thumby: Good Luck!

I found the leak! :yahoo: It was right under the throttle body to the left side. It looks like an elbow that leads to the backside of the engine.

PCV hose. Common leak spot on those trucks.

I used a little "nudge" from my shop foreman's big hammer while hitting it with the press.

Glad to see you got it apart.:icon_thumby:

It is cracked on the underside, the carb cleaner found it right off. Now I just need to find a suitable replacement. Would it be best to go to Ford or to an auto parts store?

You can try the parts store, but it's a formed, elbowed hose if I recall correctly, so I'd recommend a direct fit replacement. So if the Parts store can't get it, I'd go to Ford. Might cost a bit more, but it's worth it to get the formed one.

Thanks, did a bit of searching and came up with F8UZ-6762-AA for the part number. I searched the part and wow....it must be a common problem for me to get that many related results. I greatly appreciate all the help.:D
